Lot of different army represented, still a dominance from Nagash Host but super cool to see Tomb King , Kharadron and Hedonite at the top !

Age of Sigmar : General hanbook 2019 review (matched play)
Hello everyone !!
General Handbook is available to everyone since Saturday but having received the GW sample on the same day I still wanted to write a short review of the book.
I am going to focus on Matched play part of the book as it is the most interesting part for me at this time.
2 Parts in this review: Pitched battle 2019 rules change and meeting engagement the 1000 pts new format.
Let's get started with Pitched battle in 2019-2020 Season.
The mains changes to Pitched Battle are :
Extra Command Point
There are quite a few changes in this new season. First, the rule about extra command points was changed, before it was 50 pts for 1 extra commands points with no limit to the number of them. In the General Handbook 2019, the rule is 50 points for 1 command points but no more than 1. It's not a big deal for the main army, but Tomb king for example just joined the General Handbook and they have no Warscroll Battalion options and they can buy only one at the start now :( (sad)
Army Specific Terrain Placement
The second change is hotly debated Army specific terrain placement. In the 2018 editions of the General Handbook, there was no mention of them but in the 2019 edition there is a new block on how to place Army terrains.
Harsh !!! Games Workshop spent the year selling us these new terrains and now a new restriction enters the fray. And it's completely intended that some terrain placement prevent them to be used.
Terrains Selection and Placement
The third big change is the Battlefield generation procedure. Now it's specified that Pitched battles are fought on a 48" by 72", that each player picks 5 terrain pieces, 3 from the Primary list and 2 from the Secondary and take turn placing them. As for Army Specific terrain, you must place them more than 6" from an edge, other terrains and 3" from objectives.
As you can see the new scenery line is well represented in this list ^^
New Scenery Table
The fourth change is the scenery table, now there are 2 tables but you only roll on the scenery tables if the terrain piece is a unique terrain feature or doesn't have a warscroll. If there is a warscroll available you must use the warscroll rules.
generic Command Abilities
Fifth change: Command Abilities, Pitched battle add 3 more Command abilities to the 3 from the core rules.
All out attack: Target unit reroll 1 to hit for this melee phase
All out defence: Target unit reroll to save for this melee phase
Volley Fire: Target unit reroll 1 to hit during this shooting phase.
Ok, these are pretty vanilla, but still, some army are going to benefit from these especially in the end game when the only hero left is a shaman hiding behind an Herdstone ^^
2018 Optional Battleplan
Sixth concern the Battleplans, now the book include the option to play with the 2018 version if you have General Handbook 2018 (it make no sense to me but whatever). Also, some Battleplans were improved (allegedly)
Upgraded Triumph table
Last Change is for the Triumph table, I know it's not used by everyone, but in a Pitched battle under the rules of the General Handbook 2019. The army with the fewer points spent earn a roll on the new table :
Honestly, the Triumphs are all super strong even if once per battle only and totally worth 15/30 pts. Also, I am not sure with the new wording if buying a command point is counted in army selection or not? (need FaQ)
That's it for the Pitched Battle 2019 Editions. Now let's take a quick look at the most interesting feature of this new General handbook: Meeting Engagement.
This is the new Kitchen Table format !! The promise is 1000 points, 90Minutes No spam or huge Infantry Block.
The army selection rules and how the army come into the game are different from the Pitched Battle version.
Limitation to army selection
-1000 points limit
-No more than twice the same warscroll
-1 Endless Spell limit
-1 ally unit limit
-Minimum sized unit
-1 warscroll Battalion limit
-Only 1 Extra command point for 50 pt (it's the same as Pitched battle 2019)
-The Army has to be split into 3 Contingents.
From the get-go, i really like this ruleset for small game size. It's clearly intended at the new players that don't possess huge blob of 30 infantry ^^. In this game mode, you can only pick unit a starting force or double force (but with restriction.) And no more than twice the same warscroll. It's going to reduce the bad side of 1k games where the top list is frequently a big boss + 1 maxed unit with synergy+ support.
The three wave
Your army has to be split into 3 waves, each wave has it's own limitation and restriction and must have at least one unit.
-Spearhead (wave 1) start the game on the table
-Main force(wave 2) arrives at the end of the first turn
-Rearguard (wave 3)arrives at the end of the second turn.
Battles stop at the end of the fourth round.
Only base sized unit in Spearhead, one battleline in Main force can be double sized and any rear guard can be double sized.
Arrival of new units
Each mission proposes a diagram showing from where enter reserve. Models must be placed 3" from reserve edge (even if they are too big to fit).
Also, Enemy arrival edge counts as enemy models and prevent them to be deployed within 9".
Reserve units cannot be deployed until their contingent is eligible for deployment.
Missions have 2 Victory conditions, 1 for kill points and 1 for objectives.
The kill points are super interesting because they are counted each turn
That means you need to deal damage each turn to earn VP while still holding an objective. Forcing you to commit a unit from the start of the game. Also, considering the game last 4 turns, there is no time to sleep.
Having 1-4 more VP than the opponent is Minor Victory, 5+ is Major, rest result in a draw.
On the paper I really like Meeting Engagement, I am playing tomorrow (Monday). Will do a report on how the game(s) went!
Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse Eldar Preview
Hello everyone !!
I really wonder of the eldar are going to turn on Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse because it's always quite hard to represent fastness and Skirmish on an Apocalypse crowed table.
Asuryani Detachments have nigh-unparalleled speed and versatility thanks to their Battle Focus ability. it's all thanks to the Battle Focus ability transforming assault order in a Run and Gun like power.
Small arms is a limit off course but a bunch of Eldar Small arms weapons are super strong and short range. Being able to double move and shoot should be super effective.
Holy shit Wraith Cannons are Small Arms 12", 6+/4+ Destroyer ! This should make short work of any super heavy ^^
sniping character in Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse is going to be effective as units out of command range of a Character have to test against Routing in the damage phase.
Rangers get a +2 to hit against Characters so they should be pretty reliably hit them. Also they have Deep strike ensuring you have them where you need them.
Look like the Wraithknights have 4 attacks on their profile. That mean that their Damage outpout is going to be crasy as most weapon use the Attack number on the profile.
Off course it's good with melee weapons but imagine what the Sun canon is going to do with 4 shoots ^^
Top Command Assets
It's evident a lot of Eldar Assets cards are going to be Psychic Powers, but i am sure the deck will also help represent their tactical/speed mastery.
DOOM !!!!!!!! wow this look super strong.
Double hit on Small arms ? !!!!
for the first time since they started spoiling card that i have the feeling that cards a tad too strong. Now I am really eager to see the whole deck.
Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse Daemon Preview

Legiones Daemonica is for Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse what Daemons of Chaos is for Warhammer 40000. The Childrens of the warp !!
The Legiones Daemonica unit roster is incredibly diverse, and when combined with the permissive army building of Apocalypse you can do whatever the hell you want ^^
2 Elements compose a Daemon army in Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse : A group a Greater Daemons and a swarm of Infantry focusing on melee damage.
To balance things out in the Apocalypse format The 5++ was changed to Daemonic Invulnerability.
So once per Damage Phase and unit you can roll with a D12 instead of a D6. Without the Full stats it's hard to judge but it's off course less good than a ignoring 1/3 of wounds ^^
-Nurgle have a 6+ FNP (good to know)
Interesting Deluge of Nurgle trigger when you play a card (Assets) It's a brand new mechanism in warhammer 40000.
Fiends of Slaanesh
Fiends have as well an ability triggering on asset cards (psychic power)
Doesn't seem super powerfull but learned that Peril of the Warp is a Strategic Assets.
Only the Axes and Rage Embodied are spoiled but from what we learn it's obvious that Skarbrand is going to Carnage And Slaugther the battlefield ^^. At least 3 attacks 6 If Rage Embodied affect him wound on a 4+/5+ (with d12) Carnage Have destroyer so deal large blast marker (that are saved on D6) .
I guess Skarbrand is an Heavy if other Bloodthirsters are a suggested target for this ability. Also it affect enemy units that can't decide to fall back while within 6 .
Daemons have many Command Assets that are psychic powers, representing their peerless reality-warping powers on the battlefield. So it look like that a large number of rules and power were transfered to the factions specifics Command Assets Decks.
Ouch, Within 6'' of a target points, this is a huge zone , Note that it will affect friendly unit as well ^^
I love this Command Asset, In one card you get Reinforcement, Daemonic summoning rules and with an extra random element. Such a great way to manage Daemonic Summoning in a Battle of Apocalypse.
I am loving this game more and more and i can't wait to try it out !! The amount of rules that have been switched to cards and deck building is excellent as you don't need to bother with them until they are played. And with 400 cards to choose from i am sure we will see a lot of varation.
That would be awesome if in the future, factions specific decks would be released for even more deck building !!

Each of these cards makes for an excellent glory generator, making them popular and powerful picks in a variety of decks. Now Restricted, we think they’ll remain solid choices, but you’ll have to weigh up including them at the cost of other powerful options.
Rastus and Ammis from Stormsire’s Cursebreakers can now only each make one successful Empower spell action per phase
Keep Them Guessing objectiveno longer counts actions taken as a Reaction (like through Scurry and other Reactions on Fighter Cards)
Katophrane Tome keyword added to Tome of Healing and Tome of Insight,
if you’re playing in Organised Play, you’ll only be able to use each board side once in each match.

Warhammer 40000 : Repulsor and Skorpius rules preview

Primaris Repulsor Executioner & Skorpius Dunerider will be available for pre order on Warhammer Day.
Today we get some rules preview for both of them.
It's the new Space Marines Primaris tank. Loose some Transport Capacity for a Big turret with 2 options :
And Double shot for the turret if move slower than Half (too bad you have to target the same for both shots)
Yea so 4 shots with 72" S10, AP 4, D6 with minimum damage of 3 ? Wow hide your tanks ^^ Not as much hyped by the Plasma Canon but if you have Reroll aura around it should be Fine to remove armored units easily.
At last Mechanicus get a fast transport for Warhammer 40000, transport 10 models 12".
Get some anti infantry firepower with 3 Heavy Stuber and a nice rule to held moving and shooting.
Trade Transport Capacity (some ? all ?) for a super strong missile launcher and a turret weapon.
Wow this missile launcher is super nasty !
The turret is not bad also with the option for a weapon not needing a LOS to attack or a reliable gun (S8 :/)
note: +1 Toughness from the closed hull.
The Primaris Las Canon feel super strong with the Dual shot option but i really wanted a Primaris Rhino :/. On the other hand Mechanicus army having Mechanised transport and MBT is a good news !!

Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse rules preview
Hello everyone !!!
New installement of the Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse rules preview. This time it's about Damage and Commands Assets. To understand what where are writing about it's better to have read this post : Link .
In Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse the roll to wound is made with a D12 and you have to beat or equam Sap and Sat of the weapon. (go read the post explaining it if you didn't : Link ).
If you successfully wound your target you place a small blast marker next to it, if the target already have a small blast marker you replace it with a large blast marker.
At the end of the Turn, during the Damage phase each unit with at least one blast maker must pass an armor save or loose one wound. No AP or Save modifier in this game, You roll a D12 for armor save against small blast marker and D6 against large blast marker.
Note : Destroyer special ability mean that the weapon deal only large blast marker.
With this rule clarification in mind and the Chaos Space Marines Preview from yesterday ( https://war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/bloggings/3922) What do you think of the revealed Abbadon power to always test with D12 for Armor save ?

There are two kinds of Command Asset – universal (which say “Apocalypse” on them and can be used by anyone) and Faction specific (which will have the name of the Faction they are for).
Also, Psychic cards need Psycher on the ground to use them :
How They Work ?
Before the game start you can build a deck of 30 cards. Then you draw up to 10 cards (one + one per warlord on the battlefield). There is 400 Command Assets to choose from and the Command Assets cards can have a massive impact on your games of Apocalypse so it's a very important step.
Damn !!! Deck Building in Warhammer 40000, am i dreaming or is it real ? Did i mention that i love Deck building these days ? Some of these cards are quite strong, this is such an interesting addition to Warhammer 40000 Apocalypse
